we went to 42nd Street just before Christmas and it was great as usual. I had raw oysters and chowder and my wife had broiled grouper. The red snapper is always good. I have never had a bad oyster there. They serve nothing but select oysters.
Select oysters! I just about fell out of my chair laughing when I read that. I really do enjoy the ITB crowd. I can't wait to meet everyone.
I've read the entire thread and I'm still not sure if a location has been decided upon. If it's still up in the air, I'll second the suggestion for the Pit. The bbq and ribs there are some of the best I've had since we moved here and they seem to have lots of room in the front bar area.
The Pit does have great cue. I have been eating Ed Mitchell's cue since he started selling at his momma's store in Wilson back around 1990. The only better eastern style barbecue in my opinion is Skylight Inn and Allen and Son. Had Skylight on the way the the coast last week and it was good as always. Stephenson's is right up there as well down in Willow Spring.
Feb 8 is fine - and it's on my calendar. I'm open about the venue, though I'm leaning toward the Pit. :-)
BBQ AND valet parking? What more could a gal ask for??
Good moonshine and automatic weapons!
