My ...new...! husband and I have decided that instead of saying 'oh yeah, we should try that place' over and over we are actually going to make a list, post it on the fridge, and GO TO THEM, prob once a month for a 'date night.' SO, I need your help! Please tell me your top 3, it doesn't matter what price range or type of food, we like all food, but it has to be GOOD, HIGH QUALITY food. Thanks, hopefully I can share some of my experiences here on this forum to help others find some great places.

Blue Corn Cafe (mexican - everything's fresh and homemade)

Piazza Italia (best italian we've found in the area, by far. they actually know what al dente means)

Shiki Sushi (great sushi, great drinks, great vibe)

All in Durham.

The owners of Shiki Sushi have opened a location in BC called Tasu...excellent, best sushi I have ever had. It's near Earthfare.

Yes, we have checked out Tasu as well. Almost identical menus and quality. I mentioned in another restaurant thread that a buddy of mine who was a sushi chef has verified that Shiki/Tasu is the real deal.
