Figured this would be an interesting sampling to see how CDers compare to the averages that we've seen from various research firms.

Average age of a homebuyers, for reference:
United States: 31.
United Kingdom: 35.
Canada: 29.

23. My husband was 28. It was in a suburb of San Diego. We closed on the house a few weeks after our wedding.

I was 24. Bought in a development of new homes. I gave into the wife on the house style. She wanted colonial. I hate colonial anything.

28 when we started house hunting- a few weeks after my 29th Birthday when we actually closed on our house. My husband was 25 almost 26 (this was a little over a year and a half ago).

34, but I could have afforded a home much earlier. I chose to rent for all those years for the flexibility and freedom. Well worth the supposed 'money down the toilet.'

I'm still a fan of renting in many circumstances.
