Had a nice dinner out with my husband and the kids. DH was really digging my attire, to the point where he encouraged me to do more shopping! I encouraged him in other ways.
Tonight my SO and I went to our favorite little restaurant. While he was in the loo, another couple came in. They were both in their mid to late 60s. She had huge, twinkling blue eyes and a cap of sassy white curls, and when she sat down a few tables over, she smiled a gorgeous smile at me and said hello. On a woman in her 20s, her style might have seemed "New Age," but on her, it just looked like the clothing of a mature woman who hadn't consigned herself to looking like a dowdy ol' frump just because she was in her 60s. Nothing revealing, but the cut to her top was modern and she had a lovely pendant on a black necklace. He had a neat, silver coif and was wearing khakis and a crisp, new shirt.
And I knew from the minute they sat down that they were on a date, maybe even their first one.
When my SO came back to our table and we got ready to leave, he noticed the couple, too. On the way out to the car we talked about it, and when I said that she was just so radiant, he said, "And he seemed into it, too."
It gave me quite a lift to see them. She was vivacious and more youthful than a lot of women half her age, and he looked like he couldn't believe his good fortune in finding her. They just seemed so happy.
I did a little landscaping, small area, and having it look just a little nicer, gave me a smile. thanks for making me realize that it did make me happy.
Well, it was yesterday, but I made amends with someone that I had a falling out with a few months back. It was totally my fault, and I have felt horrible about it, ever since. All's well, and it feels good.
