It is full of people of ALL shapes, and sizes and ages......
Not every actor has to be a STAR you know.....
In fact you probly get ten times more work, (not the pay though, lol) by NOT sticking out too much....
90% of characters you don't know their names and don't see them pimped out on grocery store magazine shelves every week....
Not everyones goal in the industry is to be a super star, some of us, or most of us, just really love our jobs, and all of the people we work with.
Its really better for a long career to NOT be the star. People that don't work in the industry have no idea how much you can make at it. I do. I want to get back into when I actually do look older because there is a lot of work that is steady for that.
Actually, a whole lot of actors are quite short..... it is funny a lot of us have to stand around on half apples when the normal sized people are working with us...
and again, I was never trying to be famous, in fact I turned down some roles because that would freak the crap outta me...
Actually, back in the day, I DID audition for Laura Croft, Angelina Jolie got the part, but I couldn't have been that bad pre-baby to b sent to the same casting session as her...
no offense but pushing 40
the only work since you said you lost alot of weight is maybe weight watchers where they do the before and after cameos any major lead roles for 40 Y/O will go to people like sandra bullock or Kim cattrall who were famous and succesful in their 20's/30's.
they only way maybe you could make it is go to a proper acting school and get a degree in the arts even then you might just end up doing plays at a casino for peanuts.
What have you been in?? Have you been an extra in anything on TV?
Seriously curious here. Just a link to your imdb page will be fine.
