Any man that is threatened by a wife that earns more than he does is insecure, immature or clueless. If I were male, I would want my wife to make as much money as absolutely possible, even if I was flipping burgers at McDonalds. It would be a total deal breaker if my husband was threatened that I make more than he does. In actual fact, I have always brought home home about 30 G's more a year than he does and he loves it. Why wouldn't he? It's all OUR money, not mine.

Here's the question.....Do you hold it over his head every chance you get? Like I stated previously, some women are good for that mess "I make more money than you blahzay bla" Any woman that makes more than her man and holds it over his head is a total clown.

After considering Redisca's post and yours a bit more, perhaps your fear is that men will suffer the same consequences women have historically? By having limited or no income women were at a disadvantage (lack of power, autonomy, etc). A few posters have suggested as much in this thread, but I don't see that to be in our social future, frankly.

Sad to say it may reach that point. I hope not, but we'll see what happens. It you're content in what you do, great. But if you're capable of more and choose not to do more, that's ridiculous IMO (off-topic I know)

That is another subject, and an interesting topic, but I don't think it plays into the fears noted in this thread. Men, in some cases, may not out earn women in the future, but they won't be dependent either like women were in the past. There's a big difference between 70k/yr vs no income and maybe 70k/yr vs 50k/yr. As I've mentioned before, folk of the same stock tend to marry, so women out earning their husbands will probably only do so minimally. Of course, during high unemployment, like we're seeing today, that disparity might be greater, but hopefully it will be short lived.
Are you sure? I used to know plenty of women who would date broke men, heck, even marry them.
Very true! Right now, I'm head over heels for a guy that has like a 5K credit card debt, while I make about 4K a month!
