There are gray areas in life you don't seem to want to acknowledge. Most people are not saints at all times. Besides, not everybody places so much importance on a one-time intercourse. There are more important things in a relationship to some.
Maybe they don't want to be exposed to disease.
I don't think that "one time intercourse" is the norm. If a person has it in them to cheat, that's what they do.
Personally I'd want to know so that I could be tested for STDs or worse.
Sounds poetic and lofty, but that's not how things work in real life.
