Oh Jeez, the Mach 3 razors. My husband uses the ones in the orange package. I can't remember if those are Mach 3, just that when he says, "I need more razors," I know it's going to hurt. Four replacement blades are like $14! Costco has a decent price on their giant multi-pack. Sure it's pricey but individually they are cheaper than Walmart. And he probably wouldn't have to buy new ones for several months.
Chess, I used to take an egg and poke holes in the top and bottom with a needle and then blow the insides out into a bowl. Let it soak in bleach for a while to kill any remains and roll up a 20 dollar bill and hide it in the egg, spakled it, sanded it and spray painted it gold. It was for my nephews. The trick was being the first to find this golden egg. You could take that idea and put anything you wanted inside of one.

Yeah, over here they're 8 for $25 at the local supermarket. I thought I'd save on usage because I have a beard, but I forgot about the bald head...
In fact, there's even a few websites (why should I be surprised?) about getting and maintaining a bald head, and the Mach3 is rated the best in terms of closeness of shave, price-point and quality. Plus, it really does do the best job on my head of all the disposables I've tried.
Julia, can you feel the difference on hubby's face when he's using an old blade? I've been told there's a difference, but I can only go by feel - I get about 2 weeks out of a cartridge, so I figure somewhere in the vicinity of $1/day to use them (at my local prices).
I find that the knock-off brands of the Mach3 rarely live up to the original, but maybe that's just my skin talking.
Only thing better is the old double-edged razor, which I love but currently don't have. I'm very particular about the razor holder itself - it has to be the right color, size and age (I'm partial to the ones from the late 60's - early 70's) or I can't breathe.
The indian in me is what I assume gives me little beard to worry about. A minute with the ol lectric razor and done. I'm doubtful that they would be suitable for someone with an industrial growth though. I do keep some razors on hand for when I want both hairs to be as closely shaved as possible and round here costco is the undisputed price champ.
