Would you MOVE for a better dating scene if you felt like the city another city would provide much better dating opportunities than the one you currently live in?
Only in extreme cases. More likely is that I'd expand my search distance and see who I find, consider a long-distance relationship, and if I find one that's desirable AND viable, move at that time. Now, if my career prospects were also enhanced by moving, then I'd use dating opportunities as one factor in choosing where to go.

Yes. There should be more benefits to moving far away other then dating. It would be better to be part of improving other aspects of one's life as well.
At my age I wouldn't do it solely for the dating scene but if I'd definitely think about it if the other city provides as good or better professional opportunities than the current one and more single women in their late 20's/ early 30's are available.

yes. i can, and i did.
for me, living a really cool place where i know few people, is pretty similar dating-wise to living in an "okay" place where I know everyone.
As dismal as the dating scene is here, at this point, for various reasons, I'm not moving for anything or anybody, unless he deposits a few million dollars in my name, so for all practical purposes - no.

Moving from one large city to another? No.
From a remote/rural/small town environment? Yes.
In the end, it largely depends on the individual to be sucessful than the "scene". I say that because we've gotten so inundated with "Top Ten" lists for pretty much anything and that's led to unrealistic expectations and disappointment.
