I agree with the posters that in parts of Europe affairs are much more common and not looked as down upon as in the USA. My parents moved my family to Germany in the late 90s, and years later I found out that European women approached my dad at work very casually about having an affair. My parents were shocked of course, but then learned that it is a pretty common thing. I think sexuality in general is more embraced in Europe than the USA. One example, is the teenie-bopper magazines in Germany had comic strip dramas with real people having sex. I felt like I was looking at porn, but for my German friends, it was just a comic strip.
Wow that is very interesting!
Is it mostly women approaching men about having affairs or do men equally approach women?

But sadly liberal people think this is a good thing and want to liberate sex so much for us that it gets to the point where adultery is acceptable...
However, according to Gallup, 91% of all Americans say adultery is wrong while 7% say it's acceptable.

oh boy, I remember my initial encounters with this the first time that I lived out there. It had surprised me how DTF some if the women could be, and putting it right out there in the open.
its a different world over there, esp in the east.
Adultery has been glorified though Hollywood and the media. I reckon nearly half of all American married couples commit infidelity or have open relationships. I don't hear about couples in other countries doing this but in America.
Is the USA the only country where married couples commit adultery and it's perfectly acceptable in American culture?
I think you are confusing "gossip" for "glory." Adultery hasn't been glorified - it is merely talked about. It is talked about in the same way that train wrecks are talked about - because Americans like to watch a train wreck. I don't see any glorification at all. I also don't like to watch train wrecks or read gossip mags or anything.

I'm not sure why you think this. I assure you, as a liberal, that making adultery acceptable has nothing to do with being liberal. I think you have been listening to too many conservatives try to brainwash you against liberals.

And it's amazing that many Europeon countries have some of the lowest incidences of STDs.
I think the majority of people in America don't find it tolerable or acceptable. I certainly didn't when I was cheated on. And the people who do find it acceptable are seriously dillusional. People can justify absolutely anything to themselves to make a wrong act seem acceptable.
People cheat in every country and every culture. I would be really very surprised to learn, where people do not cheat.
I know that in some East Asian countries or regions, including North Korea, South Korea and Taiwan, adultery continues to be a crime. Similar laws exist in Pakistan and some other Muslim countries, such as Saudi Arabia.
But does that stop people from cheating?
Its said that men consistently reporting having a greater number of sexual partners in the course of their lifetimes than women do.

Or people and society should acknowlege that man and womenkind are not suited for monogamy. Infidlity has always been high throughout history and we have always been brainwashed into thinking that "Happily ever after" was a god given right.
