I am now a sophomore university students interning in a company and there is a guy working there who I found kind of friendly to me.
Actually, we work in different team and sit pretty far from each other. And I didn't even notice him at first.
But one day, when I walked by his desk. He suddenly introduced himself to me and, after that, we smiled to each other every time when I walk by his area. Sometimes, I noticed him staring at me when I talking to sb else.
And another time he helped me to fix the problem when I was printing out sth. So I found him really nice and I really appreciate his kindness.
However,we never had any chance to chat or to have lunch together.
To be honest, I kind of like him. But, I never dare to think too much cause I think he is just kind to a lost girl. We never really talked to each other ....
Nevertheless, today when I add him friend on facebook.(just want to ask him sth about his job cause I want to work in that company), he messaged me saying that I am cute. What does that mean?
In detail, I asked him whether he remember the girl interning in his company and if I can ask him some questions about his job when I tried to add him as my friend. He answered sth like of course he remembers me and I am really cute, I can ask him anything.
And he asks me how I got to know his name and his facebook account cause he never told me his full name.
But actually my job there is to editing information so that I got to know his full name . But it shows that I am paying attention to him....I do anyway...And he got to know it right now... and I feel a little embarrassed...
How should I answer him?
Am I thinking too much if I feel he kind of interested in me? what does he mean saying that I am cute?
Also, the guy is American and I am Chinese so that I am not sure whether American guys just say that to show friendliness cause American people are usually kind to others.

If you like him, then answer him the way you answered us. Explain to him how you have edited some of his work. That way it won't be too weird. Give him good vibes back. It seems like you both kind of like each other..
Based on how you feel shy and awkward around him, I think you like him. Otherwise, you'd be courteous but indifferent. I think he likes you and is quite interested, but may not want to seem pushy or inappropriate, maybe because he can tell you're shy - and perhaps inexperienced with dating?

OK... I am extremely inexperienced... But I can't tell if it is obvious to him....
I think maybe he thinks you are cute in a cute sort of way. Give it time and keep being friendly see what happens. No need to rush into anything or guess as to what his intentions are, given enough time all will be revealed then you will know for sure without guessing.
Keep the conversation going. If you don't he may think you don't like him.
And the time he helped me out with the printing machine... I made a criminally stupid mistake...It's just a disaster....
But what should I talk with him?
