It's a wasteland out here. Technology enhanced narcissism is the rule of the day. I look at some online dating ads and just shake my head. So many mediocre people expecting to be treated like royalty.
People now seem to approach dating as consumers. How can they get the most while giving as little as possible. They expect service with a smile!
Yes, true. People do not put forth their best online.
Just out of curiosity, how long do men need to pay for the dates? That can get pretty expensive after a while. This is not meant to say that I think women should pay for every date, I just think a little equality is in order.

Unless she makes more than me I don't mind picking up the tab most everytime. I like most of the Old School male/Female convention when it comes to dating. Man asks the women out, dresses nice, picks her up, opens doors etc, carries conversation as needed, flirts a little. Woman dresses up and does hair to go out(Probably takes 10 times as long as a man), Carries her end of conversation, is appreciative, flirts back. Hopefully a good time is had by both. It's really about the experience and not about man paying, women not paying.
Her phone is beeping with calls and/or texts from numerous other guys that are checking in with her while she is on her date with you.
Major across the board pet-peeve of mine: People who text while they're out with you. I hate that crap from my friends, and I don't tolerate it from dates.
It is beyond rude to be in the company of someone who is talking to you, only for you to whip out your phone and start replying to a text that you've just received. I have a personal policy of, unless it is important or I'm taking my phone out to look up something that pertains to the conversation that I am having (google), then I turn it off, leave it in my bag, or sometimes I even just leave my phone at home.

My personal policy, I'll offer to foot the whole tab for the first two. After that, she needs to pay her share.

Rep ya! For the Women and Men that do this out there. You are signalling that you are not interested in the person you are on a date and most likely will not get another date.

Definitely agree. Try telling that to people in my age group though.

If your phone is off or at home, how do you know if the message is important?
Obviously, if I'm expecting something important, that would be one of the times that I have my phone with me. Do note that I said sometimes
You said 'sometimes' you leave it at home. You made no such qualification about turning it off.
