Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but as a whole they do better.

I am not sure if it is. I was married once before and it wasn't a very positive experience. My ex got remarried and I did feel bad when I found out. Not because I wish I was still married to him, but the divorce was hurtful and he told me his reasons were that marriage just wasn't for him, which was obviously untrue. None of us knows the future. Next year at this time I could be married, you could be married, OP. Life changes fast and in unexpected ways sometimes.
