So the girl wants to talk a little bit about celebrities, what is the big deal?!

Many of us here post daily, God knows how many of my friends think I am truly pathetic and need to get a life. They don't get why I have to be here until they read some of the posts here. LOL It is entertaining.

We all have our interests, temporary or permanent. As long as the girl has other desirable qualities, what is the big deal?

Apparently you didn't really read the OP.... she "made fun" of him because he was researching topics. Just based on the OP's posting she sounds sort of like a dolt.

I get it, people don't have to always talk about heavy subjects, and sometimes light fluffy stuff is fine, as long as you can be at least semi well rounded.... I got the jist from the OP... that she spends too much time with "the light fluffy stuff"......

tru dat.

sometimes i don't know why i do it, must be addicted to something. it is kind of like watching dating drama and trainwrecks waiting to happen though. im amazed but how many ppl are clueless, think they know what it takes when it comes to dating, and women who still give "Donna Reed" type dating advice.

So, posting on CD is like watching Jersey shores or the Kardasians. Should I just shoot myself now

If we're around other people, I feel pretty embarassed if she talks about the personal lives of random celebrities. I also feel it undermines my intelligence a bit.

I don't know how to tell her this bothers me because to a normal person, I don't think it would. Normally I try to just change the topic of conversation, but I'm not sure.

Sort of a weird topic I know - reminds me of a typical Seinfeld episode.

I am just trying to make a suggestion that maybe, just maybe this girl has different interests. Different interests to me is not and will never be a turn off unless they are illegal or unhealthy.

For example, I had boyfriend who was into body building, I think it is great. I also had boyfriend liked to cook, hey, I am not complaining. I talk about absolutely non sense to my exes, they sat there listening (at least they pretend they do)

Each individual is unique. Only boring people find others boring. I can talk about art all day long, I am sure other people would want me to shut up and get a "life" I don't mind people talking about celebrities unless that is the only thing they care about.

OP obviously thinks very highly of his girlfriend, otherwise, he wouldn't be with her for a very long time. Concentrate on her positive qualities, stop dwelling on the less important stuff. If she wants to talk about celebrities, what is the big deal? It is not a crime.

most women dont like politics,,or details of politics,,or personalities of everyday issues involving politics.. or religion

do men search for "smart woman" ??? umm...not really...most men get hung up on looks alone,,

three's company...suzanne summers,,number than a carrot,,,but men were after her

the older i get ive noticed something along this line,,if in a social gathering, different topics come up....a mature person doesnt have to be smarter or one up everyone around the table,,,,,
i can speak well in many areas- but often,,unless im asked,,i wont say much,,unless there is an arrogant know it all that is wrong,,

i once read a bumper sticker-
a small mind,,talks about people, a medium mind talks of how things work , and an open mind speaks of ideas/concepts..

ive watched thousands of episodes of history channel shows,,,most women(i know) hate this stuff,,i find it interesting,,,,,
i like the nature shows,,, etc, etc,

just different likes and dislikes,,
