It is a converter of sorts. It takes analog audio and converts it to digital. There is a USB plug on the other end that allows it to be hooked up to a computer to record. It has two inputs, three outputs. RCA plugs, USB and a 1/4" plug for monitor function.
It is resting on top of a 16 channel mixing board.
Okay...so could you hook a mic up to it and record songs? Because I want one if that's the case! That's better than a karaoke machine!
I could. What I will do is hook the mike, instruments and the like into the mixing board. Out of the mixing board into that box. From that box to the computer. On the computer I have program that records and makes an MP3.

Lol. I've wanted one for so long! I've asked for it for Christmas, even used ones. But then I saw that you can still buy them, lol. Not too cheap, but... I have a whole bunch of 45s from my brother that I'm dying to listen to.
At Thanksgiving, someone made us an "egg-less eggnog." It was really tasty. But it was like dessert. One was enough. I can't drink too many sweet drinks, lol.

Thankfully I don't have to deal with taxes. I'm not a CPA. I work for a public corporation and our year end is Dec. 31, so the first few months are busy, as are quarter end months. It is WAY better than my last job, though, so I can't complain.
