Everyone is different. I don't think it matters as much what the text says as long as it was sent quickly. My husband isn't great with words - never has been - but when we were dating, I knew how much he was into me when we were together and his texts and calls let me know that I was on his mind.
I dated a guy like this. He used to send me generic texts like that after a hot night in bed together and I thought he was being ironic and humorous. Turns out he had mild Aspergers and he really didn't get how funny those "polite" post coital texts were. I still laughed though, and would usually respond with a photo of my cleavage.
