STD's are and pregnancies are 100% avoidable with proper protection...
And if some pesky sperm gets through, abortion...
"unplanned fertilization" <--- really?
Even 'proper' protection can fail. Condoms like any manufactured product can be subject to defects. Now if it comes to abortion then the man is at the emotional whims of the woman. If she changes her mind and wants to keep the fetus the man is SOL.
The dangers I outlined, although diminished are still there.
Marriage doesnt prevent cheating, std, unplanned pregnancy or single motherhood. The same potential consequences exist, although in marriage, their likelihood are just diminished somewhat. Theres no guarantees in anything in life. Just because you marry someone doesnt mean they wont cheat on you or leave you, however, there could be expensive legal repercussions. Take the one guy in that one thread, for example. Left his wife with three kids so he can be a player. Ehh.
You think whether they waited or not to have sex made a difference? Nope. At least she gettng alimony, tho'.
How, as the man, do you get an abortion after your woman's egg is fertilized? She has to get it. What if she says "no" to your request?
So you use a rubber, insist she use birth control pills (watch her take them), make her get an IUD, etc
If she says no, you dont have sex with her as the guy. This whole line of questioning was from the Woman's perspective as her deciding not to have sex, not from a guy.
Where are you going with this?
If she does not want to have an abortion, that's a whole other argument, and I am sure there are ways to convince her, or deal with it

Are you going to watch her get the IUD inserted as well?
You have nothing to compare to if you are a virgin.
Less disappointments.
Religious beliefs would probably be the big issue here.
STD would be a close #2.
