This year I bought my husband a bed cover for his truck. It's something he has wanted for awhile and we couldn't afford, but I got a fairly nice bonus from work so that's what he got this year.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day or other commercial gift giving holidays, but every year I get the left overs that my wife brings home from the Valentine party in her second grade classroom.

Pretty slim pickings this year, four of five mini cupcakes, a half a bag of Doritos, and a few pieces of WalMart chocolates.

Still, it was enough to give me a pretty good sugar rush and after i went to sleep I woke up thinking I was having a heart attack. A half dozen Tums fixed it up though.

There is still a little heart shaped box with four pieces of candy in it that one of her students gave her. I know he must really like her because he also stuck a little card on the box with a picture of a Transformer on it that if you wiggle it, it turn from a car into a robot.

I think I'll eat this for lunch with a Diet Pepsi. I wish there were some of the Doritos left.

Im a fan of giving my hubby food- not so much a dinner, but a cute little gift basket of all his favorite snacks. Maybe some of the ones that aren't an every day thing, some of his indulgences. My hubby is big on munchies so I bought him some chocolate covered macadmia nuts, some mountain dew (we dont normally drink soda), and some other treats that he doesnt normally enjoy. Include a magazine that he may like It may sound corny but he loved it..

I gave my husband a big, new....nothing! Not even a card!
A kiss and a happy valentine's day and the statement that I love him every day and I don't need to make Hallmark rich by proving it to him on Feb. 14th. He laughed and said he was married to a man. But I know inside he was relieved.

Did he get you something or did you tell him to not make Hallmark rich either?
