SS, that is awful about your friends, I am so sorry. It does seem like you sensed it, even from the distance. I had the same type of feeling the night my son got into his accident.

This heat is awful, makes me feel so lethargic!
It's going to be 105F plus out your way today. We're pushing 92F here.

The difference being is that your humidity will be around 36%, which is NOT good. Our here is around 50%. In AZ you can have those temps and have single digit humidity, it's still hot as hell, but it makes it more manageable.

In AZ I manage by just...staying inside mostly.

Thanks for the kind thoughts about my friends. If I were in the same state as they are, I'd be one bringing them food and such, as it is I can only offer condolences and be glad they have others who are showing up for them.

In other news here, my adventures in consignment of a bunch of the storage unit stuff are going well and I could not be more thrilled. This antique mall place has taken a bunch of it and more is selling almost every day. It's been such a relief. And my work just gave me a surprise raise (they said that they felt it was right to do this for everyone because of inflation.) And father in law let me look at some of his financials recently and things are looking better there than I had thought, too. So much relief on the money front for me and I am so happy about that. It means I can plan the vacations I want to do next year without biting my nails about the cost.

It’s 108 today in Lake Havasu with 33% humidity. Getting ready to take a road trip to Waddell. It’s only 100 degrees with 31% humidity in Waddell. Lol

There's some kind of tropical thing brewing in Mexico that I heard is adding to the higher humidity, just caught something on the radio in the car earlier today, haven't looked into myself.

It was 116 yesterday in Sacramento. Today it is supposed to be 110. Sacramento generally doesn't get this hot. We aren't Phx. So we aren't really set up for this heat.

I was tempted to respond in one of the threads but then I realized that the comments made by one particular poster are so stupid and contain such fanciful exaggerations that I wouldn't even bother.

The over the top "personas" of this forum are something else. I almost want to suggest hey, start writing shorts. But the character development is so poor they'd get nowhere.
