I once had a cashier in Home Depot flirt with me. A while later for some reason I told my friend about it, and she was like, "Eh. Bunch of hoes."
Being as it was in Home Depot she might have been/was likely referring to gardening tools.
That being said, I, too, help ladies in the supermarket, chat some up on occasion and the same with the pharmacy and many other venues. Often, they chat me up. Everyone where I generally shop recognizes me by name, and visas versa, and it make the chore of shopping ever more pleasant.

No, she certainly wasn't referring to gardening tools. "Hoes" may not have even been the word she used. Any time I mentioned going to Home Depot after that she would get a little angry with me.
