I tried it once and really enjoyed it. Out of all forms of meeting people it was my favorite. Just go there and talk. There really isn't anything to it. If you can't talk to people face to face, then don't bother. But if you enjoy having conversation, I highly recommend it.

I googled height requirements/speed dating and there are some with height requirements for men, and they are often paired with "slender" being a requirement for women. When I just googled speed dating I saw dozens of events sponsored by different sponsoring entities and they all appear geared toward professionals and they all have age ranges (quite wide) but none I saw have height requirements.
So I only found height requirements when I specifically looked for that.

Age ranges I see all the time. But never one about height requirement or size or any physical feature for that matter. I have also seen a Professional speed daters event, but that was more of a mixer than anything for people trying to get job contacts. And I guess if there was a height requirement for men at these events, then no doubt they would also have a size requirement for women as well.

While the OP certainly could have stumbled upon an event with a height requirement, I would think that he'd have to wade through man that didn't mention height. Maybe a case of seeing what one is looking to see?
