I was conversing with someone from London a number of years ago and decided to go for a visit. Mentally, it was totally "I'm planning my first trip to the UK and I'll be seeing Stonehenge, etc., etc. and meeting a guy". The guy was intentionally a relatively small part of the visit and I could rearrange my activities if our meetup went well. No crazy expectations and a great trip planned. He turned out to be a really nice guy and we visited several times back and forth - a very fun adventure - but I planned around any possible disappointment.
This is good advice. Dis, as excited as you are, and very likely should be, it's important to not paint this as a be-all, end-all, moment but rather the first in a series of steps and conversations. When I met my wife, I knew immediately that she was the woman I would marry.
But over the first six weeks, I was more deliberate in how we proceeded, partly to make sure I didn't freak her out with a full-court press. Not game-playing mind you, but just a degree of patience.

I agree fully with how you handled the trip. I'm actually staying with my mother for the trip (she isnt but two hours from Cincy) and plan to meet with the crush for one day out of the 4. So I get to look in on my mother and check out Louisville and Cincinnati at worst if this doesn't work out.

Just pulled up in Kentucky. We meet tomorrow. Very nervous but very excited! I'm going to be proud of myself even if this does not work out. Knowing I took this risk will help me with relationships in the future.
dis i hope for the best for you. i realize you are nervous about the meeting, but relax and let things flow naturally. you are going to meet a person, who happens to be a lady. you are not going to a high level meeting to determine the fate of the world.
