My husband is kind of on the clueless side in detecting cues. He never knows when a girl is staring at him or giggling just a little too hard at the slightest hint of a joke. He figures she's just being nice.

Well, in fairness, a more astute woman might have picked up on the hints. I am clueless when it comes to normal relationships, and I don't think I am representative of women who are used to such hints.

Maybe if more men were direct and said,"Hey I like you,want to date you,want a relationship with you". Instead of playing dumb mind games.
A serious relationship is way more serious than dating tbh.
