I would have asked for a lunch bag for myself first! So I would admire his rationality and compassion for the resources of the earth and for his own finances. Give me a man who cares and puts compassionate values into real action!

Heck no! That person is frugal, which is needed in today's society. Why waste good food? I guess I'm way past the "impressing my date" stage since I've been married 17 years.
Well....I would hate for him to buy me a nice dinner, and then just leave half of it. What a waste!
