It may be the most difficult decision you make, but yankeegirl313 and Oildog are right. More than likely it'll get worse with time if nothing is done. You can't take the chance on trying to wait it out and hope it goes away if he refuses to seek help. Have a friend/relative on standby to take you in for a night, week or longer in case your ultimatum is met with harsh opposition.
My uncle lost a few marriages, jobs, his driving privileges and his health over alcohol. Get out of harm's way if he picks alcohol over you. I pray for the best outcome for you and him.
