Is this really something that's fixable? I don't really think it is, for a couple of reasons:
1. It's more of a psychological issue than physical "letting go." It's just like a woman who doesn't orgasm easily or at all - it's not usually that she can't physically climax, but more often something in her head that prevents her from doing so. That's something that takes a lot of work to get around - or it takes the right partner.
2. Doesn't sound like he thinks there's a reason to "fix" it. He sees it as pleasuring her over himself.
Make it "all about him" night. Once in a while we like doing it. Basically just tell him that this night is all about him and his satisfaction and then tell him that next night it will be all about you. This way, he will know what to expect.
Just spend the entire time pleasuring him and it's against the rules for him to do anything in return. Tell him and verbalize it to him that he needs to learn how to receive and that it's very pleasurable for you as well.
Turn it into a game.
every night should be an "all about him" night. Am I right, fellas?
Intimately speaking, older men i knew always told us young ones growing up if 'mama is satisfied, the papa will most definitely be satisfied.'
I used to like to get my lady hers, with the ones who I could on a consistent basis, and then after cuddling for a minute, I'd go fix me a sandwich or pick up a novel or something.
Quite a few times this resulted in the particular lady ferociously running in and 'throwing that thing' like she was trying to break a world record.
I can see how a guy being overly obsessed with it would cause discomfort with a lady though.
