In the 1860s the vast majority of all Americans, North and South, both freedman and slave, were believing Christians. There was also, in fact, a great revival of faith during the Civil War.

That is meaningless as the fact is, that today more than 50% of people support same sex marriage, the majority of them Christians, just not your kind of bigoted Christian.

How then did 32 states get their constitutions amended to define marriage as between man and woman?

So, what if a person is attracted to someone of the same sex but never ever has sex, are they still committing sin? If not, at what point, does one cross the line?
The point of sin is where they engage in sexual activity...like "when a man lies with a woman"...it is plainly in scripture for you to gain the answer from that source....same book, all the answers in it....So Jesus walked loving all...in a plutonic way....and he made a unit of men...loved each one in the plutonic way....brotherly Love...and sisterly Love to...no sex at all....and he said follow me....do as I Do..and asked them all If they Loved him....and they all said Yes....but had no sex/intercourse with him or eachother...as it is not written of this kind of conduct between them all, whom Jesus selected as his followers or believers..
That means it is ok to love your friends, and or your choice in love or helper of the human kind...and as Love is universally acknowledged..to put that love of welbeing over all things.....but love has nothing to do with intercourse...intercourse has everything to do with making children...and that is something man and woman do naturally, and in accordance to their making...they are a mated pairing..a couple in union, under oath to and of God , in likeness to bring children/life eternal into the world under a umberella of protection and wellbeing....made to do something for God in some form of continuance....as helpers....each to help eachother help the world be sound, healthy and productively giving to all for all in all.....to share the prosparity with all equally without profit, to gain understanding of all in all for all the greator good of God.....to do what God made them for, make the ecosystems tame and harmonic to that ideal of Eden multiplied out to Edens by our hands working together for the greator good of all., when Love of Life is applied....all life is taken into consideration and love is applied continually by us onto them others, with the greator good of all in mind and in action..or in doing..For God put us over them to be cared for in the chain of life......if we do not respect the others....how do you expect to gain respect of them?....if we pollute them, they will pollute us....if we disobey God, then they can to...for what is good for the goose is good for the gander...and if we rule over them with sin and evil and bad practices God makes mention of as being filthy, sinful or evil for that matter......then chaos and problems will arise. on to those bad sinful and evils being done, and who do them or are in support of them.....= cause and effect...

Made to "Tend and keep the Garden"..with all seed and all living things God made Good...and put in his garden...and that which is taken without permission...restored sinlessly...with repentance...gains forgiveness!
Now that is something that is being forgotten or overlooked, or mislead from doing properly by all......Tending and keeping Garden well....seems to be polluted and in jepoardy of any sound enviromental state of health these days....wonder why?...yep forgotten the reason of being made humankind.....even that seems to be a bit of a hypocritical union of words...as I see it from this 2012 vantage point still killing and imprisoning the wrong people for the wrong reasons...while promoting the evils and sin as sound practice,, and made glorified in some circles......and the governing bodies make Gay and lesbian issues of more importance than eco systems and healthcare of us and it?...wonder why?...maybe the taxed hand and more votes for continued stupidity in making IDOLS and IDOLATRY has something to do with it?....yah money overrules sound thought and actions...it seems...again wonder why?

If God says he has Given everything to us...why do we pay for it?...and if all plants are Good by God's own words, and underlined Genesis 9:3...why do they imprison, slaughter and murder plant growers?...again the answer is blowing in the wind....more taxes, more sickness, more woes and wrath profit the profiteers...while slaughtering the Prophets and religious fanatics...flaunting every sin and evil possible before God and saying we are free?.....yep...wonder why?

Equating murder with drunkenness shows how screwed up the bible is. The lack of decency in that book is sickening.

If you think being a homosexual, or drunk is the same as murder, then you're sick too.

Jesus enjoyed having sexual relations with both men and women, but he enjoyed the company of men a great deal more, so it is more accurate to describe him as a homosexual. The fact that Jesus picked like 12 men to follow him around in the woods is proof he preferred men over women.

Mostly because old people vote at a rate much higher than young people, and old people don't support same-sex marriage at the same rate as young people.
