Logically, one should not expect to convince anyone of anything without substantiation. If something happens to be in the Bible
and substantiatable, then fine. Otherwise it would have to be off the table for any random unbeliever. It would be like convincing me that Sears merchandise is the best by quoting the Sears catalog. Relatively impartial 3rd parties like
Consumer Reports or even online user reviews taken as a whole, would be more reliable than that.
But with the arguable exception of Buddhism, religion is not about "don't believe it because I say it, or because it's in this book, but because of your own inquiry into the matter". It's about accepting at least certain foundational assertions as true without evidence, and this is actually presented as a virtue and a gift.
