Let me ask you something: does 'having faith' require leaving common sense behind? To a non-believer, the idea that a man can walk on water, or rise from the dead, flies in the face of everything we know.
We question the evidence that's presented to us. We don't do it because we lack 'faith' (whatever that is in the grand scheme of things), but because the reasonable, rational parts of our brains tell us that what we're reading makes no sense.
I hope you'll forgive me for saying this, but half the time, we're expected to take on faith something that's the religious equivalent of the Chewbacca Defense.
