What is there in writings, speculation and opinion...that matches up
with a Direct Experience? Huh?...what?
I mean ...talk with someone that had an NDE...what can you say that matches they 'experienced' all is One...that All is perfect...that ALL is part of a perfect system...
ALL is 'ok'.
Love...be kind...learn and keep gaining more knowledge...
So, maybe writings, etc can help us recognize and maybe explain what we are experiencing?
Since my entire life was overturned by my initial experience . . . writings of all kinds became absolutely crucial to aiding me over the decades to explain and understand what I experienced.
Just my opinion, but if a person believes a Religion is membership in some organization, they probably do not have a sincere personal relationship with God(swt)
We can not know anything about worship inless we have found reason to love God(sat) and our goal becomes a desire to strengthen a close and personal relationship.

See Woodrow...... You post something like this immediately after having made some OTHER outstanding observation and people can't "rep" the second one, you know? You have GOT to learn to space these things out better.
Since I have not been visited by God, I admit I do not and cannot understand at that depth.
When I hear of such stories, of course there is doubt in my mind. I could conjure up many "reasonable" explanations for a phenomenon, one I myself have not experienced. But even those explanations are clouded with doubt, because in essence it's just guessing.
I don't believe the deity exists, but do believe the mind is an incredible organ, which can make people believe they are experiencing things outside of their mind!

I see vanity...come ON!
I agree, and acknowledge freely that I don't know much. It makes sense to me that a conscious source of our reality exists. Beyond that, it is speculation on my part.
What I do know is that a belief in the Christian bible (and by extension, any spiritual writings) as inerrant is untenable. And a belief that God is love (as the Christian bible claims) is incompatible with many of the other things that the bible and current Christian theology claims.

Oh, writings, scriptures are great, don't get me wrong.
It becomes hard listening to people say things emphatically...if that is all they are going on.
