When will you own up to your own responsibility for all those things happening to them because you proclaim a gospel of condemnation? Every negative word from your mouth enables some nutcase to practice murder, bullying, and assault. If ever there was a wolf in sheep's clothing, your practice of religion is just that.

Homosexuals just "want to have their way!!"

You are as ignorant as jeff regarding history. Why don't you research and find out what prompted the "homosexual agenda." It was some of your ilk that sent a group of police into a gay bar back in the sixties. The police began manhandling some of them and it spilled out onto the street where those girlie boys took it to the cops who had to call in reinforcements. That started the war that you've just lost.

I have no sympathy for any fundamentalist Christian who has spent his whole life demonizing one group or the other. Atheists can't stand you because they know if you ever supress gays, they will be next on YOUR agenda.
All you guys did was draw a line in the sand and now freedom loving people are crossing it in droves while your churches are aging as young people are disgusted with the garbage spouted from too many pulpits.

Get out of the pulpit before God throws you out.
Even the Pharisee serves a purpose with God. What they (EF) need to realize is if as Jesus said NARROW is the ROAD and GATE leading to LIFE, how in the hell are 100 MILLION evangelicals going to fit??

If they believe this, then they must be very scared, so very scared that the LIBERAL MINORITY is going to travel the NARROW road just fine as the MILLIONS of evangelical fundies are LEFT BEHIND...

SO VIZIO, PREACH ON and take another few thousand through that WIDE GATE!!
It would probably be MILLIONS that go because of the evangelical fundie influence, but We on the PROGRESSIVE SOCIALIST SIDE (the same side Jesus stands on) will be successful in turning a few thousand back from the draconian version of a god-n-a-tiny-box dogma...

God will NOT throw you out (though no one would be surprised if he does) because you are doing his will (you are serving as his winnowing fork, as are all modern PHARISEES)of separating the chaff from the wheat--and rest assured you are collecting nothing but CHAFF...

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Because Jesus is standing behind the wall PULLING EVERYONE OVER THE WALL who has been OPPRESSED, JUDGED, DISCRIMINATED AGAINST and TORMENTED by the evangelical fundie right ..

It just blows us away every single day how brainwashed right-wing "Christians" are. They troll the page every day so we're exposed to it every day. Right-wing ideology has absolutely nothing to do with anything Christ taught. In fact the two paradigms are opposites. It's really scary what a herd mentality can lead people to believe. Really scary. Incidentally, we don't "hate" conservatives. We're simply opposed to their ideology and bewildered with the notion that anyone could view such an ideology as "Christian."

I'm beginning to think religion is just politics wearing a mask.

Maybe that finally sends the message that no you cannot discriminate against same sex marriage or those who are LBQT.

Of course we can expect outrage by some of the religious fundamentalist around the country. Get into the 21st century, because the rest the world really doesn't care.
Good to hear, although there's plenty of hate groups that will rally and raise the $135K to make up the difference for these bigots.

Actually, quite a few of us have. It's just some that are stuck.

So you're not into the belief that wine is the blood of a deity and that a rather flavorless cracker is the flesh of a deity?

Well, there's something we can agree on.

That is an outrage. I'm LGBT and still say it's an outrage.

This is a tort, not a crime (also, that's a pun, as torte is also a type of cake). In tort law, it is based on personal rather than legal offenses, like someone beating up someone else. Okay, here's the thing. It's usually based on damage. As in, you break someone's leg, you pay for the cost damages (medical expenses and the like).

So, for just a social slight, this is completely absurd. The only way this would make sense is if the lack of a cake meant they had to cancel their marriage. The cost of a marriage itself might be in a $135k range, although... they could just google "LGBT-friendly bakeries."

No it also includes the bakery owners making it public, the women's names and address being posted on Facebook, which resulted in them being harassed and then due to the stress of it all the state considered removing their adopted daughters from their home. Both the women and the bakers apparently received death threats as well.

I know I would not consider death threats and the threat of my children being taken from me as a social slight. From the article it was the baker that made the issue public.

Well, American fundamentalist preachers have inundated Uganda. Based on those preachers (one was Rick Warren) statements about gays. The government of Uganda has a 14 year prison sentence for anyone caught in a homosexual union, and even prison terms for people trying to provide support groups for LGBT folks. They initially proposed the death penalty until the Obama administration said that wouldn't be wise if they want future American aid. Perhaps you can suggest all the fundamentalists send their excess money to Uganda so the nation won't need aid from our government. Then you can be outraged by your fellow African LGBT members getting executed.

I think we ought to do with the bakers what Uganda has done to its people who have done nothing but practiced the affrontery of being born gay---give them 14 years in prison. After all, don't we want to make examples of them as fundamentalists desire to do with gays. Those bakers actually DID something illegal with their refusal. The lesbian couple that suffered affronted the Christian couple by being born.

How lucky for them that all the prophecies came true huh? I mean what are the odds that of all the ancient tribes that no longer exist, Israel would be the only one that survived and even became a nation again. Something that rarely ever happens in human history. On top of that, Israel becomes the focal point of the ENTIRE world's politics, again just like the Bible predicted. Bad fiction. psst. More like bad biased rhetoric.

I get it. You hate the Bible with a passion and that fact alone only moves the needle towards the reality that God exists.
Gotta love Psalms 137:9.

Something about a joyous bunch of fairytale individuals getting all giggly about bashing babies heads against rocks.

Who could come up with crap like that?
