Seriously. All they had to do was take the order, then call back 2 days later explaining that they were so sorry, but they had already booked all the wedding cakes that particular day that they could handle.
This is the second time ( as far as I recall) that outright lying has been suggested in order to evade the issue.
Do Christians , do you think, condone lying as a practice?
I also (as far as I recall) did not see any of them post an objection to these suggestions.

These particular Christians had no problem with breaking the law, which the Bible says not to do.
Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God
1 Peter 2:13-14
13 Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,14 or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.…
As I understand it several counties in Mississipi, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama have had Marriage Bureau clerks quit or refuse to issue marriage licenses to anyone, because they are so opposed to the new LAW making Gay marriage legal in all 50 states.
Any clerks quitting when they're asked to issue licenses for divorced people getting married for the second or third time?
Yes, and the best reason to tax churches. As if god votes.
I can tell you that my church would suffer greatly if taxed. We are not a rich church. We are not politically minded. We are a small little church in a very small town. Our town lost its school 10 years ago. Along with that the grocery store went. If the church goes, there is very little in this town left. The town will die. Like it or not, we do provide some stability to an area that needs it. I know that may be difficult for you to believe.

I suffer greatly because I pay 35% tax compared to corporate america that pays less than 5%
AsI was telling my evangelical fundie co-worker, time the other churches tha are doing what they should in the community SPEAK out against the MEGA houses and ask they stop being so political, because when the tax man comes, it will be for ALL the churches, not just the political ones...
After the bakery owners went to the Internet to raise money, the court has decided that that same couple and bakery owners owe the lesbian couple who they denied a wedding cake, $135,000.
Maybe that finally sends the message that no you cannot discriminate against same sex marriage or those who are LBQT.
Of course we can expect outrage by some of the religious fundamentalist around the country. Get into the 21st century, because the rest the world really doesn't care.
What happened to that sign you used to see that said 'We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody'...??? very curious about that. As for the freakin' cake...name 10 of your friends that would even want to eat a cake that was made by someone who was forced to make it? Why didn't the Lesbians just go to a bakery that would enjoy making their cake? Why make such a stink about it. The shop owners were polite and respectful...I'd love to be make these two a cake...LOL...and this is how the rest of their existence as a married couple and as parents, God forbid, will continue...arguing with people, forcing themselves on everyone else. Nonsense...
Koale
Terrible ruling. The bakers shouldn't be allowed to discriminate based on the FACT that the customers are gay. But they should have every right to decline to bake a cake that contains any image or a message that is offensive to them.
Any non-biased, reasonable person should be able to tell the difference.
