We do refer to the Christian God as Allah.

The "muslim" claim that Allah is the proper name for the One True God is a false claim.

If they claim that "Allah" is the proper name for the One True God, then they are mistaken.

Christians were using the word Allah to refer to God (YHWH) for centuries before their prophet was even born.

My point is, God isn't a proper name of God in Christian Religion. That is why christians in different countries calls it in their languages while muslims from all around the world call it Allah.

My point.

Mike, you said, "The word belongs to us". No word belongs to any one person or group of people.

Further, I hate to think how many masses I sat through in my Catholic years...and I never 'Allah' mentioned even once. Not in confession, either.

Ilah = God

Allah = The God.

However, Allah is an unique name of God according to Islam despite it being The God.

All muslims from around the world call it Allah for that reason.

Did you think it was just Arabs calling it Allah?

Presumably you attended mass in the Latin rite where either English or Latin was spoken.

However, if you attended mass in the Maronite or Chaldean rites (possibly others as well), you would hear Allah spoken.

Listen to the Priest from timestamp 1:53 to 1:56

Chaldean Liturgy

I understand that. Quranic Arabic is their sacred language.

That doesn't mean that Allah doesn't mean God. In a Christian context it most certainly does.

It'd be "Al" or "Al Dude". Or on a different day, "Joe" for Jehovah.
