Why would I not say that? It's the truth.

If you look up metaphysical causes of shingles, it is very interesting.

In the meantime, the vaccine might also cause shingles (as well as a host of other problems, including eye damage):

Merck Admits Shingles Vaccine Can Cause Eye Damage

I never got a shingles shot nor the shingles and had Chicken Pox when I was 5 or so...I'll be 80 soon.

For the last 25 yrs I've been working with calming supplements and know they work and also keep my Immune System strong and healthy with the great antioxidant I've been taking for 23 yrs.

Many naysayers knock the supplement world (fill in the health gaps). Food no way does our food do it all and those vaccines?????

Magnesium/Herpes Shingle Connection

I've been working with magnesium for probably 20 yrs and so I'm on top of this mineral that is said to be deficient in many. Check yourselves on your magnesium as it could keep you from shingles outbreak.

Why should I look it up - show me these "causes".

I had shingles when I was around 23. It was near my eye and left me with scar tissue from the resulting corneal ulcer. Could have been much worse.

That being said, should I consider the shingles vaccine at my current age of 55? I think it is recommended for older people but wonder if I am susceptible to getting it again if I had it once.

No matter what it costs, get the shot. I had shingles when I was still in my 40s. It was like being stung by wasps 24 hours a day for weeks. Older people often never get over the pain. I got the zostavax years ago, but am heading to get the new vaccine ASAP.

Only about a third of infected adults will get shingles. The other 2/3 will skate. They're your dice, you roll them.
