"The quality of the sachets, drawer papers, scented soaps tucked between garments, shoe polishes, aromatic woods used for construction of drawers and closets, etc., can make a huge difference."
that is what my wife does, since she puts soap bars in my shirt drawers.
the shirts "somewhat" soak up the scent of the soap she uses.
extra benefit: the soaps "shrink" some over time becoming more solid
which last longer in the bathroom when it is time to change out the old.
Another vote for Old Spice. It's the scent of every man I've ever loved. I'll never get tired of it. My husband uses Old Spice, Caswell & Massey Sandalwood or Bulgari for Men. I like them all (he calls the sandalwood cologne "Lumber" ), but Old Spice will always be my scent-imental favorite.
At a place I worked at in the Sacramento CA area, there was an upper management guy from the Ireland area of Europe (trying to keep things fairly generic here), and he had not only a sexy accent, but he also smoked cigarillos ( small cigars) and he wore CK One (Calvin Kline One) cologne. Women around the office from the ages of in their 20's to their 60's followed that scent around like he was the pied piper.
I think the key is to not douse yourself with it. And maybe there is more to the smell of a man, besides his soap and cologne - maybe there is some kind of pheromone involved. But, for some men, the combination of smells can definitely be an aphrodisiac to women.
It also helped that he was a good listener, and genuinely liked everyone and his job was to solve problems (quality control).
I won't say that smell alone will make a man get lucky - but for the guy I'm mentioning above, his wife definitely had reason to worry :-)
And his attraction, to a majority extent - had to do with his smell. So, considering this is not nothing.
Well, I use Tide Pods (which I don't eat contrary to some idiots on the Internet) with the Snuggle scent boost for my laundry. Generally though, I smell like Brute.
