I dont have a rocking chair inside but I do have one outside on the patio. I enjoy sitting it in and drinking my morning tea/coffee.

It made me wonder.....

How many of us own rocking chairs?
My BF does - he just bought it last fall. It's an Amish-made polywood - really nice. Sits on his deck.
My sis bought 2 (same kind) for her front porch.

Rocking chairs are very common around these parts.

Not at all. It's also a coastal thing.

Yes, my Hubby and I own a hardrock Maple rocking chair we received for a wedding present. I had admired it while visiting at my Maid of Honor's home, and her mother gave it to us as a wedding present! Boy, were we surprised! It taught us a valuable lesson -- great presents do not have to be new.

It is classic style, very simple, and is roomy and comfortable with a cushion [hard without one]. Both my friend and her parents are no longer with us, and the rocker means more and more sentimentally as the years go by, besides being very comfortable. One of my Munchkins wants it in her home after we are gone or downsize, so I know it will have a good next home.

Yes. I have two folding rocking chairs. Love them. Use one on front porch and one on back patio .... my go-to chair for kite festivals, concerts, stargazing parties. They are GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker Folding Chairs.

Not currently. Had one when the children were small. I don’t see What’s wrong with expiring in a rocking chair when your times up.

Yep, two on the front deck where you can sit and rock and look at the lake until the mosquitoes drive you inside. They are made of recycled plastic milk containers, and are heavy and indestructible, so we can leave them out all winter; they don’t budge an inch, and they come out on the other side looking swell.

That's called "polywood".

Good to know, Chessiemom, Thanks to you, I learned something today!

Now what do we call the mosquitoes? Infernal little buzzing nodes of pestilence? That works.
