These days I can see someone dropping dead in a Zumba class or playing Pickleball. But in a rocking chair? I don't think I've even sat in one for a few decades, LOL.
I have a rocking chair that was built in Illinois by my great-grandmother and brought to Oregon in a covered wagon, on the Oregon Trail. I have never sat in it. It's one of a thousand things that fill a storage shed and may never again see the light of day, at least during my time.
Inspired by a quote from another post "You may well fall over dead at 80 while "working" at something you've chosen to work at; I don't see any advantage to expiring in a rocking chair."
It made me wonder.....
How many of us own rocking chairs?
No, but when we buy our new house, I want a porch swing, and hickory rockers.
I have one. It was a baby shower gift. I had a house fire, and it got a bit of smoke damage, but I was able to salvage it, probably the only piece of furniture that survived. I don't sit in it very often, though.
I've never owned any rockers or recliners. If I'm a'rockin', it means I'm a'dancin'.
