Went to the supermarket, looked at the price and discovered they wanted my first born son for 2 pork chops. Didn't have a son. Didn't buy the pork chops.

BUT, an ice cream cone...

Us retired folks have been here before so it's not our first rodeo here with high inflation should that beast rear its ugly head.
We have an idea of what is coming and how to adjust and adapt (70-80's inflation). Some will cut back and others will just spend more.

But generations post boomers have never experienced high inflation to the point of changing or cutting back..tightening the belt so to speak.

True (for some), but then a single butter burger patty on a plain bun wouldn't have satisfied you, either, but WOULD have cost you $7 more to be hungry an hour later.

Sticker shock!

Just from reading social media and seeing the lines at fast food places and parking lots at restaurants, it seems MOST people eat out MOST of the time. I always marvel at how the average person can afford this; all I can fathom is massive personal debt. And I don't see it slowing down despite the rising prices. It's as if they can't conceive of any other way to eat and regard it as one of life's necessities...
