Take it to the bank: If Larry Sabato and Charlie Cook are already shifting toward the Republicans, the reality on the ground is even worse for the Dems. And a lot of people in District 2 love Trump. (McConnell not so much.)

Any Boston University Suffolk poll is almost invariably going to benefit the Dems - and Fung is already +6 against Magaziner, and +10 against all the other would be sacrificial lambs.

Lotsa luck!

That's when we'll see what Fung's really made of. Or better put, how well he can dance.

Both of you fail to recognize: Fung has already beaten a Democrat in this district. Her name was Gina. The problem for Fung was it was a statewide race. This is not.

And just to show you I am being intellectually honest: I still don't think Kalus can pull off a victory in the Gubernatorial race. I won't write her off, and it doesn't help that there is scant coverage or polling of the Gubernatorial general election - but she is more of an unknown.

Fung is already largely revered in District 2 by Dems and Repubs alike. Particularly its population centers such as Cranston.

The truth is this was always going to be an uphill climb for the Democrats, and the abhorrent radicalism of your party is only making it moreso.

B-b-b-b-ut JAN. 6th!

Yeah, good luck with that haha

I disagree with this analysis. CD 2 has a large population of suburban and rural people who dislike Providence, and in particular blame the silver-spoon Democrats who make up the East Side of Providence for many of Providence's woes. Magaziner is the epitome of the silver spoon set. Add in that a move by Magaziner into CD 2 comes off less about serving the district and more about the acquisition of power for someone who is clearly power-hungry, and it is a significant liability for Magaziner.

Decade-old gerrymandering might backfire on R.I. Democrats

Fun fact: Allan Fung already has almost twice as many Twitter followers as the RI Democratic Party.

The silver spoon stuff aside, you could be right. That I find Fung to be such an unappealing political personality may cloud my better judgement. Also, CD 2 is the reddest part of the state. Trump won much of it.

Langevin endorses Magaziner. That will get him one more vote.

Wow. So that's it? "Democracy, Kevin McCarthy" (the Jan. 6th was implied)

Nothing about the economy, inflation, gas prices, baby formula shortages?

Are the Dems trying to lose?

If that's all he's got, Magaziner's already toast.

No wonder he looks nervous as hell. Or maybe he's holding in some flatulence?

What....a....joke.
