Sacramento - High 76F; Low 55F Was it really that warm?

NYC - High 58F; Low 51F

NYC Subway Faux Paszzz and Succeses

It was late after 2am, we were waiting on the platform at the 42nd/Bryant Park station wondering why the F train had not come and its been over 10-15 minutes. So as the 4th or 5th train stopped on one of the middle-inner tracks, the train operator with his head bobbing out of the middle car stopped within feet of my head. I yell out “where’s the F downtown", he yells back, "no F, track work", as he slowly moves his train forward ,”go upstairs to the A platform, catch the B to West 4”, as he clackity-clack zooms off. So we walk up the many flights to the A platform, the B arrives, its an express, passing several stations, passing 30-35 blocks, stops at West 4th Street, we get off, in less than a NY minute the F train arrives which takes us safely home to “our” East Broadway station, which is the last station in the LES before it crosses the East Riva for Brooklyn.

The next day, rinse and repeat, but this time I’m the “expert” as I watch two sexy bubble-butted young gay guys bound for Brooklyn stress-out about the “missing” F train. I inform them, but they are confused, until I say “ya know the B that passes through Gay Chelsea under Sixth Ave", now they understand.

Sacramento - 51F

New York City - 56F

Finally made it to upper west side to visit an old friend, good times. He wanted to go downtown so we walked around Chinatown and the Bowery. We visited old haunts and watering holes in Greenwich Village.

Took subway back uptown, but to get even more walking time in we got off at 34th Street-Herald Sq. station instead of the Times Sq. station and walked up Broadway 10+ blocks to the theatre. We and other riders were greeted with the thunderous voice of an Opera singer singing an aria from Puccini’s Turnadot.I think it was Nessun dorma. Tonights show was the Broadway musical “Come From Away”, great music at the end and a heartwarming story.

November 11, 2021, High Temp for the Day

Spokane 43F
Salt Lake City 49F
Boise 49F

Sacramento 68F

Las Vegas 79F
Phoenix 87F
Palm Springs 92F (Its a blazing in PS)

Gay Pride Parade last Sunday, Veternan Day Parade Thursday all on Palm Canyon Drive. The Town is quite festive and probably the cleanest and least run down town in California lately. The Desert is quite scenic in November/December. Christmas decorations are going up on Palm Canyon Drive. I was speaking to a Palm Springs Tourism official and she is thrilled about the recent new non-stop direct flights from Sacramento. She said folks have been impatiently waiting for years.

You walk IN to the restaurant wait for a bit, if you want to sit outside no need for VAX card, but if you want to sit intside, you must show VAX card, and as soon as you sit down you can take off your mask, never need to put it on again until you leave. Neither, The patrons dining inside nor the patrons dining outside need a mask. However, in some bars nobody asks you nothing! You just walk in with or without a mask and never need to show a VAX card, hmmmm, I wonder who owns those bar(s) and who do they know in high places.

Chim,

Just a correction that San Diego Int'l Airport had 1.01 for the month of October but 1.74 season to date, so not sure if some of the other locations are incorrect in the same way. Aren't these all just October totals?

Also noticing that even as of today, places like Long Beach only have 0.46 for the entire season to date, while parts of SD County (such as Oceanside and Ramona) are at more than 2 inches (2.29 and 2.02 respectively). It's interesting that SD county is, once again, the best performer in Southern California, as we have been in the past few years.

Hi ts,
Here is the site, NOAA:
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/cnrfc/rsa_g...nrfc&version=0

The season totals I last listed up to Nov 9, 2021 were correct.

Santa Barbara almost always has the highest average annual rainfall for SoCal.

But currently,

Oceanside (San Diego County) at 1.57 has Santa Barbara beat.
Santa Barbara 1.21
San Diego-Lindberg at 1.01 for the season to date, Nov 16, 2021

I'll list more NorCal and SoCal totals soon.
