Just to clarify cause someone asked, we don’t need a big house (a 3/2 would be fine) and I’m not so concerned about the school system, except from a home resale perspective.

Default I know of a house

I have a friend that owns a home that has about 4 acres and is set up for horses. It is currently rented but I think they would sell.
The home is in the loomis basin. The home is 1200-1400 sqft and would probably sell in our current market for about $500k. They probably will not sell for about 12 months....but that may give you an idea of what to expect.

I used to have 2 acres in Granite Bay that backed up to the Folsom Lake State Park & Trails. We sold it last year. Yes, you have to share the trails with people & bikes. Some of the trails are large enough for trucks. So there will be plenty of room. When you get closer to the loomis area you will find narrow trails. You can also ride on the beach. Just be careful with some of the muddy areas. Horses will sink and get hurt. Sandy/Granite areas are usually better. There are tons of trails behind Los Lagos Equestrian center.
It's also fairly close to the horseman area in the Folsom Lake State Park.

Try the surrounding areas of Sacramento such as Elverta, up in Rocklin or even in Rio Linda, very country like.

Try the Historic Nelson Ranch it is between Davis and Sacramento and right off the freeway Horse Boarding- Sacramento, Davis, Woodland California and a nice place to board your horse with a large indoor riding arena. Nice people and they take great care of the horses barn checks night and morning and it is well kept and cleaned.
