You know what Potranco needs? An oil change place. You have to go to Marbach, Culebra, or Loop 410 to find one. They could put it over by the auto parts store near Ellison and Potranco.

I like Potranco Automotive, but I don't think they're open weekends. And it seems they've really grown in the last year or so - harder to get "appointments".
They are outside 1604 just past where Sips used to be.

Wal-mart? They did mine in 6 minutes the other day...I had to check the filter and oil before I would believe they actually did it. They were paging me before I even made it to McDonald's!!!

Roger that...I've spent a small fortune there. They should open on Saturday's though, but I guess they have enough business already.

BTW: If you're an AAA member they'll give you a 10% discount (have to show your card).

I've gone there a few times, for different things. They actually fixed a problem with my wife's explorer that Gillispie and Jordan kept missing! Non-stop "thump" sound when driving. Gillispie kept trying realignments, etc etc - PA found that one of the tires was off balance itself! Something simple (of course).

So, you trust Potranco Automotive? Since we just moved here we don't know which mechanic to trust. We took my husbands car to Ingram Park...NEVER again! They tried to get $800 out of us, when we said no, told them to just fix what we brought it in for, and after they said come pick up your car they kept trying to tell us about more things wrong with it! I didn't care for them at all! So, hopefully Pot. Auto is a reliable, honest mechanic.

We have gone to Potranco Automotive several times (were actually there on Friday for a tire issue) and they have always treated us fairly. They are in the middle of a remodel so it is a little crazy around there but they said that it should be done this week.

Personally, I use a company called TechMasters - they're up off of Braun and 1604. He lives in my neighborhood and is a member of our small business group. He's always done outstanding work on both of our cars! I highly recommend him. David @ 695-1144. I used Potranco Auto before I started going to David's place. PA is good, we haven't had any issues with them at all, but have only gone there 2-3 times. I was really impressed when they found our tire issue - I think they found it in a matter of hours after we dropped it off!

ANNOUNCEMENT - This morning I saw a really cute dog out at the Sips building - I couldn't bring her home, we have allergies! BUT, she was recently bathed, new bridle/collar, was super friendly! It appeared that she had some past facial damage - her lower jaw was a bit crooked and one of her eyes was off color...she was scared and practically jumped into my lap! She was unhurt, tho.

ANYHOW, if you're missing a little cute brown and white dog, I saw her at Sips about 0830 today. Pics:
