I've got the 50-5 package and something is not right with TW's "pipes". I download Linux OS and other computer related programs a lot and while I have the speed locally it seems that I've seen virtually no increase in download speeds on the net. No difference between 15-1 & 50-5. Changed servers several different times and other tweaks but still no increase in download speeds. It's suspect that TW may be quietly throttling their IT connection? All I know is I've seen no change.

Any idea, if Motorola modem SB6183 will work with TWC connection. My area is still not in MAXX speed but will it work with the lower speeds ?

Yes, the SB6183 has 16 bonded downstream channels and is on TWC's approved list. It will work up to the highest speeds they offer right now.

Yes, it is one of the best modems available out there to manage the new MAXX speeds. I have the previous model SB6141 but had to change it for the SB6183 to be able to get the 300 Mbps download speed

Thanks for the reviews. I purchased SB6183 from amazon and I am getting the promised speed from TWC. My area is still not under MAXX speed, so cannot enjoy 300 Mbps. Any idea when they would be rolling out 300 Mbps in 78240 zip code.

welp, im exiting this thread now. im moving this monday and the place im moving (same zip code) is grande-powered

TWC told me i wouldnt get maxx until the 8th of next month. with me moving now, im debating on what plan to go with. 200 meg package for 49$ after taxes (apt complex has a grande rep onsite and we get a special rate) or splurge on the 400 meg package. as it is, the 200 meg package will be cheaper than twc's by about 5 bucks. i dont believe TWC offers anything above 300, so i cant really compare it to grandes packages.
