got a letter finally, said i was eligible for up to 300 megs now. rebooted modem. nope. called tech support. nope.

spoke with this rude ass.. b.. word i wont say named GENA (GDI) who kept saying i was eligible... IN A MONTH. july 8th is when my area will supposedly get the upgrade. also learned somehting new about TWC policy:

apparently they will send you letters saying you are eligible for an upgrade a month in advance. no other frickin company does that. stupid.. word i wont say that begins with a B said T-mobile does the same thing. ironically, i have tmobile and called her out on that lie. she asked me 'is there anything else i can help you with' after i told her she was lying.

really cant wait for google fiber to take over this city.

its funny, but was so infuriating when i was on the phone with her. seriously, who sends out a notice saying 'hey you can get an upgrade for free! simply call this number and speak to a rep 24/7' but it turns out the upgrade isnt available for a month??

They let you know ahead of time so you can get a new modem if it's needed.

I haven't received a letter yet but supposibly I am to get my upgrade next week on the 18th. I was told by 3 separate support. (phone, chat, local drop off) At least they are starting to be more consistent. Still not holding my breath though.

it wasnt letting me know. we've already known for a while. this letter explicitly says YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR AN UPGRADE to the 300meg service.

good news is i complained on twc's twitter about their unruly billing lady. they called me back after listening to the call, apologized and gave me 3 free months of service. unruly employee will be 'educated on twc policies'.

Looking forward to the higher speeds, especially since we cut the cord about 3 years ago.
