Ditto on that. Chef Jonah Abbadabado opens the Royal Scallion at the Pearl - yawn.

Back to the topic. There's a pub across from the HEB on Babcock and Huebner that looks like it went belly up. That's been a bad location for businesses.

They are all 'critically acclaimed.' The downfall is is each of these reknown Chefs suffer from a form of ADHD.... except its called RCLD-- Restaurant Closure Longevity Disorder, which is characterized by a hyping-up of a particular venue with a notable grand opening. It then becomes embraced by the restaurant snob elite and trendy media.... then after a honeymoon period where regular customers are established, the Chef gets bored and hastily decides to close up shop.... only to announce a new venture that will be coming soon!

You say that as if it's a bad thing

It's those 'snobs' who pay the bill and leave a nice tip at the end, keeping those places in business

OK Paka it's open! 10:30a-9:30p and it has a sizeable dine-in area.

Saw a sign for an El-Mirasol on the Alon Plaza (Wurzbach and Military) today.

I'm not sure how good that location is since it's not near the street. I've lived right on the other side of Culebra from there for 35 years and I never think about going to any of the stores there.

Curious if they're moving from their current location on Blanco, seems too close for a spin-off. Wasn't sure there were many empty restaurant sized sites left in Alon Plaza.
