To repeat what I said somewhere else, I think San Antonio is a great place to live for most people. Having been born and raised there, and having since lived and worked in a variety of America's major cities, I still have a fondness for San Antonio that makes visits to my family all the more tolerable. I offer the following observations as someone who knows the city well, along with many other major American cities:

I love the social scene. Meeting random new people at clubs is easy and relaxed..or even going up to random girls at malls.. most are friendly
Theres always something to do at night. I can never stay home and i'm always partying it up with the friends at different spots.
Oh and i love the road setup. I know at most any given time i can get from my location (roughly i10 and huebner) to any point in the city in 40 minutes or less. And since i never have to go anywhere far like schertz or south of downtown or east. Travel time is really more like 20 minutes. It's great going through the streets and watching as everyone tries to hop on the expressways and get stuck in traffic durin rush hour
Example: How backed up the 10 gets durin rush hour. Literally from just south of huebner all the way to around 10/vance jackson you can be going through neighborhoods stopping at around 8 stop signs and make it to 10/vj in around 10 minutes. DURING RUSH HOUR! If you got on the 10 thats roughly 30 minutes or more if there is a wreck.
Honestly i don't get why people complain about road setup here. I've lived here my whole life and my parents were always driving around all over the city when i was young so i guess i absorbed a lot. i don't know, but i really find it easy.
I hate the slow drivers in the fast lane going 65. I hate when there are like 4 cars side by side going the same speed on one of the interstates all going 60. I like the skyline...but of course i hate it at the same time for knowing it could be so much better.
Oh i love the women did i mention it?

Hate the traffic congestion and urban sprawl that render San Antonio indistinguishable from any other large city. Love the mild winters.

Absolutely hate it in San Antonio
I just moved here with my wife from upstate NY. We moved here mainly because of my wife. She is a Texan and she has family members living in San Antonio.
