i remember that coors beer being built on west avenue @ lively. i was working for falstaff beer at the time on alamo and I35(post office there now). i was a route driver in 74-75. my helper ended up going over to coors as a driver. he even had a route on the same side of town as me. i guess the Monfreys wouldn't give him a beer route, so he 'absconded' over to coors.

Default Floyd's Dairy Bar, Nice Pics,

I haven't been there in some time, to FLoyds, that is. The place hasn't changed at all
in the 55 years back that I can remember it. How long has that place been there anyway?
The last time I was there the same tall, lanky, skinny guy who wore a white white paper hat was still working there as when I was a kid.
He can't still be there flipping burgers after all this time can he? I can still remember the flavor of Floyd's menu food to this day.
There used to ba a Taco Hut carryout Restaurant directly across the side street that intersected Goliad Rd. right there- that made the best Crispy tacos and Chalupas.
Also the very first Bill Millers was across the street on Clark Rd. Pretty good food at the intersection of
CLark Rd., Goliad Rd., and Southcross Rd, for common fare.

one was Tuleta street...the other, by where the cable cars used to be, was called Alpine Street, which snaked around back to st. marys street, behind sunken gardens.

OK darryl. thanks for the reply.

I do remember Alpine now.

seems it was pretty hard to ascend on a single speed 26" Schwinn.

and thanks for using the QUOTE feature on this one.

context is everything. for my little pea brain anyway.

most (actually, nearly every one) of your postings I have no idea what you are talking about.........
