Is that why people are living longer than ever? The increased level of carbon dioxide might actually be good for us lol.

Greta’s portrait isn’t expected to change the minds of persons such as you. It is to inspire persons who have capacity for concern. Understand?

But good for you reducing your personal carbon footprint.

As for people who “blindly follow the edicts of people with paper degrees” ... um, you mean like business degrees from Wharton?
I'd say from 2 to 3, after first researching that those 2 to 3 other opinions come from qualified sources.
If I can't find any other qualified source, then I tend not to take action on the first recommendation. I try to add some common sense in, too, occasionally.

Of course we all have capacity for concern, LOL, it's just what triggers our concern has different thresholds of validity. For some, maybe Greta's sour face triggers them to action. For some, it's just a business degree from Wharton. I laugh at that. I've seen far too many scammers with degrees from the highest places, and then those that didn't have those degrees, but Fortune 500 companies believed they did for quite a while until unmasked. I tend to look at what somebody has produced, and judge them by that, not their GPA or their degree.

You yourself rightly and constantly implore people to not blindly follow ideology. Well, then, let's dig in a little bit, do some research on sources, their possible agendas, and the validity behind their methods. A degree is only one checkpoint, if you must look for one, in the due diligence of someones claims.

Let's go by facts and hard science, wherever it may lead. I am sure, were facts/data to contradict any part of the cli-sci rage, that source of facts/data would be viciously attacked, no matter how earnest or valid.

edit: wait, this just in, and it totally inspired me to have concern for climate change: https://www.boston.com/news/local-ne...-football-game ... I am tearing up at their bravery and initiative.

to exactly my point, here is a NYT and WaPo contributor (meaning not Fox News to you WaPo subs):

https://www.forbes.com/sites/michael...ange-is-wrong/

Greta the Great, and AOC do your side of the aisle no favours on this debate, and generally retard support for cleaning up the environment, when it could be so easy to get all on board with this common enemy.

Really? Michael Schellenberger? The guy that is so ideologically pro-nuclear that he lead the movement to keep Diablo Canyon open... You know - the plant directly on top of the San Andreas fault? Pick someone less crazy please. I'm not saying he's wrong about nuclear in general, but really - San Andreas fault? No.

This guy lies about basic facts... He talks about the IPCC reports like they say nothing's wrong. I challenge you to read the IPCC reports themselves... They are a dire warning. What used to be 100-year storms will occur annually by 2100.

Schellenberger's basic argument is "don't worry about climate change too much, there are lots of other problems in the world!" You could say that about ANYTHING. It's not an argument, it's just nonsense.

IPCC says plant trees, it will reverse CO2. Wow, genius. Because photosynthesis is a consumer of CO2?
I think every third grader would have suggested that one.
I'm being somewhat facetious, but still, the drama in the cli-sci complex messaging is a turn-off to most.
