It's a massive problem having one or two country make up a large portion of immigrants. Besides both of those countries having over a Billion people each immigration is geared towards family reunification which favors a handful of countries that already have established populations. Also Corporations prefer labor from India that they can exploit then workers from say Germany who come from a society where there is strong labor standards. Basically the corporate elite want Americans workers to be at the same level as third world workers where there are no labor rights. Indians in tech are willing to work longer hours for less but that only benefits the CEO's and shareholders and not society at large or technological innovation.

Most of these don't want to come to the US as H1B's. They come as L-1's, do their specific job, go home and come back again when needed again.

Well then the issue is really about enforcement of labor standards on an international basis, rather than trying to assign blame to certain countries or nationalities.

Exactly. When I explained these unethically acquired excess profits are the source of the current Tech bubble, I was scoffed at by people that are clueless about economics.

I don't even know what stats you're referring to.

But the party is over. Just the usual drunks that want to shut down the bar still hanging around.

The unemployment rate for San Jose/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara has been dropping every month since January.

January: 3.7%
February: 3.6%
March: 3.5%
April: 3.2%

These are the official rates from the BLS. April is the last month listed.

I have been hearing the same old gloom and doom BS that the sky is falling for the last 40 years. Silicon Valley is doing just fine.

Uh, for whom would that be a massive problem?

It was certainly not a problem for us. We love the diversity of Silicon Valley.
