Current owner turned off because too expensive to monitor. Everyone gives you free equipment but then charges you a fortune to monitor it. I pay $54.99 quarterly at home---why so much more in Florida? Is there anyone that is trustworthy and doesn't rip you off---after all, that's what you're trying to prevent...............

Everything costs more here in Florida, at least that's what the tourists say. Central security is a good local business that won't rip u off.

Get a video camera system, tie it into your home internet. You could watch your home on your smart device (phone/andriod tablet, iOS device). You can have them email you pictures if there is movement in your camera's areas. Free !..only cost your internet..which I presume you are already paying for.

Some of my buyers keep the home security system that is in place and they leave it so that the alarm will go off if someone enters, but they do not pay to have someone respond if it goes off or monitor it. The alarm itself will usually scare someone away.

Exactly, and the beep-beep when a door or window is opened is useful in many ways.

We love Ken & the crew at Leader! We switched from ADT to Leader several years ago & they have been awesome.

I'm moving to Florida next month and noticed a lot of people have a home security system. Do you really need one? I understand having one if this is your vacation home but are there that many break-ins in this area?

So-o-o-o.... no one can explain why security monitoring is more expensive in Sarasota? Is there more crime?

Wages, rents, and taxes are lower than the Northern part of the United States, so what's the deal?
